Olpas NERITE product line

Use-case of the Nerite sensor

The Olpas Nerite sensor is primarily developed to be employed in submerged conditions where the Olpas Tentacle is not suitable. Such conditions are:

  • Very fast flowing or rough water conditions

  • Shallow flow

  • Confined flow in pipes, tubes or channels

  • When water velocity or level measurements are required

The Nerite can be surface mounted pointing upwards in the flow. Due to its flat and robust design it can withstand larger forces than the Tentacle product line.
Furthermore, it features an ultrasound water surface level measurement for shallow flows (0-200cm) and it is able to measure water velocity in the direction of the transducer from 0-3.5m/s.

A typical installation site for the Olpas Nerite (bottom left): confined flow in a channel. Water velocity, level and suspended sediment concentration are all measured by the Nerite.
